Take the Dessert Quiz

Wednesday, October 16, 2002

It's cold. I have a cold. Steve sayes I'm a dork for not wearing socks or "real" shoes when it's cold and I have a cold.

I say I'm already sick and flip flops save me a good fourty-five seconds every morning, so what difference does it make?

What do you think?

Oh, unbelievers,

BEHOLD
THE POWER
OF the RALLY MONKEY

The Angels are goin to the World Series, Baby, and guess who has tickets!!!!

Okay, so it's my dad, and all 8 to every game are "investments." Yeah, right. By the final game, we will SO be field-side.

Woo Hooo!!!

I always fall behind when Tom is here.

First, a BIG collective Thank You!!!!! to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. It was a very happy birthday, even though I had this micey boy invade my personal space. Oh well, at least it wasn't Ralph, back from the dead. Oh.... poor Ralph.... I hope April doesn't read this... she still doesn't know that he's.. um.. moved on.

40 Days of Purpose at Saddleback is Great, and all of you should check with your local churches to see if they are following along. Pastor Rick sayes that something like a thousand churches world-wide are sharing our curriculum. Which is spelled wrong, but oh well.

Classes are okay... I really don't know anyone new that's not on the list.

Cherries Jubilee is absolutely to die for.

I am a bad micey.

The assistant professors are on strike today and tomorrow. Woo hoo!!! Less classes!! I mean, um, "Power to the People!" dude.

I am sick. I've been sick since my birthday. I think I probalby got Thomas sicker than he already was. Oops.

That's all. Just wanted to say Thanks to everyone.

Okay, so, I'm driving, right.

Let's go before that, no, that's okay. So I'm driving down the 5. I'm just past the 22, heading towards the Santa Ana Mainplace exit. Okay. So suddenly this sky blue ford bronco comes speading past me on the left hand sholder. I think, no biggie, I mean, he's a jerk, but no biggie.

Then a cop goes past, kicking up debris. I have to roll up my window, which makes it hard for me to see b/c my front and back windshields are still foggie. But it's still sort of like, okay, traffic's rolling, I'm okay.

Ten more police cars wizz by.

I begin to make my way to the right hand lane, hoping to exit and take my alternate route. Traffic is at a near standstill.

As I'm lost in Santa Ana, I try to find out what the heck just happened. Naturally, I turn to my freinds at KFWB... News 98! They're supposed to update me every 10 minutes. They don't. Exactly. Instead of my problem on the 5, I hear about a more exciting high-speed persuit on the 91, involving three escaped murder suspects. Oh joy of joys.

Finally, in desparation (fifteen minutes later), I get back on to the 5, a mere three on-ramps after that which I exited. Traffic is crawling.

I have fifteen minutes to get to class.

Three out of five trafficlights on my streatch of Jambaree are not working. The policemen are not cute enough to help my sour disposition. I try a detour. I get lost. (But only momentarily)

By this time, even though I still have three minutes to get to Calc, I am a full half hour later than I usually am. There is no parking. Anywhere. Finally I steal a spot, nearly running over a bicicylist. opps.

I rush to class and, of course, learn nothing that I didn't know five months ago. Steve laughs at me. But wonders where the 91 fits into my story. Grrr...

*****
This is a list of all the people that I now know at UCI and that I have actually seen on campus:

1) Linda from LHS - Met her @ the commuter session. Yay.
2) Emily from Christian Students - Goes to bible college @ Living Streams, the Cult. Still haven't been able to sever ties with the club. They're really nice....
3) Steve from Calc - Met him the first day, we were both lost. Found out today we're "hommies" -- before Chicago he lived in Hong Kong. It was amazing to talk about places and having someone understand. Apparinatly, I missed out by not going to Ocean Park. Who knew. Almost got thrown out of the Main Lib today.... wasn't my fault, I swear.
4) Oana from LHS - Saw her yesterday in Alderich Park as I was walking with Steve. Yay Oana. Lucky girl wants to transfer.
5) Duncan from Writing, Rhetoric, and Public Action - Met today (first day of class) from Bay Area, REALLY tall, so it's difficult to talk to him as I'm walking... can't pay attention to where my feet are going.... started L-D debate @ his high school. Yay LDers!!

*****

That's it. That's everyone I know. I need to meet some more girls in my classes. Oh, wait, there was that one in Writing, Rhetoric, ect, but Duncan was much more interesting, hence I don't remember her name.

Oh well. Got to do Lazania now, yes, I know that's spelled incorrectly. I'm to lazy to find the dictionary....
